About Us

Our church is not a building. It is people empowered by the Holy Spirit to share Christ with as many as possible. It is a worshipping fellowship, experiencing an awareness of God, recognizing his person, and responding in obedience to his leadership. It helps our community and our world in Jesus' name. It is Christlike in its daily living. As Paul wrote:

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.  (1 Corinthians 12:12 NIV)

  • For people who don't fit in other churches.

  • Family oriented.

  • Informal.

  • Grounded in Biblical Christianity.

  • Haven for those hurt elsewhere.

  • Science friendly.

  • Southern Baptist.

What We Believe

  • The Bible is God's Word.
  • Jesus is God who came to earth as a human.
  • Jesus came to lead us to God.
  • Jesus died and rose on the third day.
  • We are called to love God and to love people.

Our Purpose

Jesus was asked the question: what is the most important commandment.  His response: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37–40 NIV).  Our purpose, therefore, is to love God and to love people through all that we do as a church.

Why Southern Baptist

As a Southern Baptist church we are closely affliated with our local High Desert Baptist Association. We are also associated with the California Southern Baptist Convention. Southern Baptist churches are independently run. That means there will never be a large organization telling us what to do. We like that.

We choose to be Southern Baptist so we can pool our resources to reach out to the world. Southern Baptists have one of the largest overseas missions organizations in the world. In addition Southern Baptists reach out to local communities. In times of disaster there are almost always Southern Baptist workers feeding and housing the homeless and helping people clean up and rebuild. We like being partners with those who do so much for others.

Service Times

Sunday School 10AM
In everything that we do at church, we hope to tell people about Jesus' work on the cross so that they can become Christians. Once a person has become a Christian, then the church, in its various activities, helps him or her learn how to live his or her life as a worker for Jesus Christ. Sunday School is an important element in helping give this instruction. Available for every age group from nursery through the oldest adult, the classes are designed to allow plenty of opportunity for asking questions and discussion.

Sunday Worship Service 11AM
The contemporary worship and Bible-centered teaching is designed to guide the seeker to a knowledge of Christ and the believer to a closer walk with Him

Sunday Evening Bible Study 5:30PM
Sunday evening Bible Study is a time for closer fellowship and directed teaching. The setting is informal and the teaching style is interactive with a heavy emphasis on group discussion.

Wednesday Dinner & Prayer Time 5:30PM
Wednesday evening services offer a dinner before the time of prayer begins. Prayer is informal and in small groups. There is also plenty of time to visit and fellowship.

Service Content

Preaching
The sermon is biblically-based, designed to reach people where they are, and to impact them in a practical way.

Music
An integral part of the Sunday Morning service is the worship led by the praise band.  The music is varied in style and includes the newest contemporary songs to the oldest hymns.

Nursery
Nursery is provided at all services. It is designed to create a foundation for learning abut the Bible and important social skills for infants and toddlers. It includes reading of short Bible stories, singing, interactive play, and the usual care as necessary. "We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed." (1 Corinthians 15:51b)

Children's Church
During the sermon, age-appropriate instruction is provided for children in a small-group setting.
