B310 The Old Testament in the New

Purpose: An examination of the use of the Old Testament scriptures by the authors of the New Testament. The general purpose of this course is to supply the student with a general knowledge of the uses which were made of the Old Testament by the New Testament writers.

Course Requirements: To accomplish the above mentioned goal the student will be required to read sections of the textbook listed below as well as the lectures attached to this syllabus. Then the student will be required to answer, in essay form, the questions found at the end of the lectures.

Time Requirements: B310 The Old Testament in the New is designed to be completed in one academic quarter.

  • E.E. Ellis, Paul's Use of the Old Testament
  • Krister Stendahl, The School of St. Matthew and its Use of the Old Testament.
