Syllabus
1. The purpose of this study is to familiarize the student with the book of 2 Peter and its purpose.
2. To accomplish this purpose the student will be required to read the book of 2 Peter and the comments of the professor as well as one commentary on the book. At the end of the course the student will be asked to write a 5 page paper on the meaning and theology of this letter.
3. Texts: The student will need to read 2 Peter in his or her own Bible as well as the translation (ASV) found in the course itself.
The student will also need to read a commentary on 2 Peter
of his or her choosing, such as Vol. 50 of the Word Biblical Commentary series, Jude, 2 Peter, by Richard J. Bauckham. (Waco: Word Books, 1983).
Books may be purchased through Amazon.com.
ASSIGNMENT: Read 2 Peter in your Bible and read the commentary on 2 Peter that you have chosen.
