Quartz Hill School of Theology

Location

       The Antelope Valley in northern Los Angeles County includes Quartz Hill and the neighboring cities of Lancaster and Palmdale, with a combined population in excess of 350,000. Several defense contractors are major employers in the area.
       Edwards Air Force Base is a nearby test facility noted for the first faster than sound flight in 1947, as well as the place that NASA's Space Shuttle sometimes landed. Mojave Air and Spaceport can provide service to suborbital space, as well as private air service. It was there that SpaceShipOne completed the first private manned spaceflight in 2004, winning the $10 million Ansari X Prize.
       Palmdale Regional Airport, when it is open, provides air service to various locations. Fox Field provides private air service.
       Highway 14 makes for an easy 90 minute drive to downtown Los Angeles. Metrolink provides rail service.
       Quartz Hill School of Theology is close to housing, public schools, the Lancaster Performing Arts Center, movie theaters, a variety of restaurants, and employment opportunities. The JetHawks professional baseball team (minor league, single A) plays in JetHawk Stadium during baseball season. The annual Poppy Festival and Almond Blossom Festival are popular, as is the annual County Fair in August.
